The El Dorado County Law Library is a public library serving the community of El Dorado County with legal reference resources.

** Beginning October 20th, we will be offering zoom conferences on Tuesdays and Fridays with Legal Services of Northern California. They will be available to discuss the following topics:

            • Unlawful Detainers
            • Adult Name Changes
            • Civil Harassment Restraining Orders
            • Answers to Debt Collection Lawsuits
            • Enforcement of Money Judgements
            • Small Claims
  • The law library’s main branch is located in the county seat of Placerville     and contains a print collection of over 9,000 volumes.  There is also an electronic branch located in South Lake Tahoe inside the county library  which has a small print collection. Both locations provide access to  extensive electronic legal resources via premium subscription databases, i.e., Westlaw, CEB Onlaw, and NOLO Press E-Books.
  • The NOLO E-Books may also be accessed by residents of El Dorado     County from outside the library through the law library’s website: eldoradocountylawlibrary.org.
  • At the Placerville branch, a conference room is available for reservation     and several free legal aid clinics and workshops are held weekly.  Wi-fi, computers, printing and photocopying are available at both locations.
